1. Contest Overview

The #ZencoderInAction Contest (“Contest”) is hosted by For Good AI Inc. dba Zencoder Inc. (“Zencoder”). “You” or “Your” refers to the individual person that is participating in the Contest. By participating in the Contest, You agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”), which forms a binding legal agreement between You and Zencoder. 

2. Eligibility & Location Restrictions

  • The Contest is open to all Zencoder in-trial users and new users who register or start a trial of Zencoder at Web Summit 2024.

  • Individuals must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry and reside in the following eligible countries: United States, Canada (excluding Quebec), United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Portugal, Greece, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Malta.

  • Participants must ensure they are legally allowed to enter the Contest in their jurisdiction.  
  • Zencoder reserves the right to verify the eligibility of participants and may require information to confirm that participants are legally allowed to participate. 

3. How to Enter

  • To participate in the Contest, You must complete the following steps: 
    • Register or Sign In to a Zencoder account. 
    • Download and integrate the Zencoder Plugin for either VS Code or JetBrains IDE. 
    • Create a Video demonstrating a unique use case of the Zencoder Plugin. The video should showcase how You are using Zencoder in their development process. 
    • Post the Video on Social Media: 
      • Share the video on one of the following platforms: LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or YouTube.
      • Use the hashtag #ZencoderInAction and tag @ZencoderOfficial in the post. 
    • Optionally, You can submit the post link via the provided submission form on the contest landing page for tracking purposes. 

4. Submission Guidelines

  • Video entries must be original, created by You, and demonstrate the Zencoder Plugin’s functionality in a genuine use case. 
  • Video entries must comply with each platform’s terms of use, as well as the Zencoder Terms of Service.
  • Zencoder reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is incomplete, illegible, or that contains any inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content. 

5. Contest Timeline

  • Contest Launch: November 12, 2024, at Web Summit
  • Submission Deadline: November 29, 2024
  • Winners Announcement: December 2, 2024

6. Prizes

  • 1st Prize (Most Popular Video): iPad Pro 2024
  • 2nd Prize (Most Creative Video): Steam Deck OLED
  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other products.
  • Zencoder reserves the right to substitute any prize with an alternative of equal or greater value at its discretion.

7. Judging and Winner Selection

  • The Most Popular Video prize will be awarded to the entry with the highest engagement (likes, comments, shares) across social platforms. 
  • The Most Creative Video will be selected by a panel of Zencoder judges based on originality, creativity, and how effectively the video demonstrates a Zencoder use case. 
  • Winners will be notified through the social media platform used to post the entry or via email if provided. 

8. International Customs and Duties

  • Zencoder will cover the standard shipping costs to the winner’s location. If the prize needs to be shipped internationally, the winner will be responsible for paying any applicable customs duties and taxes. 

9. Lost or Damaged Prizes

  • In the event that a prize is lost or damaged during shipping, Zencoder will either replace the prize with an item of equal or greater value or provide the winner with a cash equivalent, at Zencoder’s sole discretion. Zencoder will make reasonable efforts to ensure the safe delivery of prizes but is not responsible for any issues that may arise during the shipping process beyond its control. 

10. Intellectual Property

  • By participating in the Contest, You grant Zencoder a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute their video entries on Zencoder’s website, social media channels, and in promotional materials. 
  • You retain ownership of Your content, but You agree that Zencoder may use Your entry without further compensation or permission, subject to these Terms & Conditions. 

11. Limitation of Liability

  • Zencoder is not responsible for any issues or technical malfunctions with the plugin, network, or social media platforms that may impact entry submission. 
  • By entering the Contest, You release and hold harmless Zencoder, its affiliates, and employees from any claims or damages arising from participation in the Contest or the acceptance and use of any prize. 

12. Privacy & GDPR Compliance

  • Data Collection and Use:
    • By entering the Contest, You consent to Zencoder collecting and processing personal data required for the Contest’s administration, including names, social media handles, and post links. 
    • This data will only be used for the purpose of tracking entries, contacting winners, and verifying prize eligibility. All data will be handled per Zencoder’s Privacy Policy, available at https://zencoder.ai/privacy-policy. 
  • GDPR Compliance:
    • If You are a resident of the European Union, Zencoder ensures that Your personal data will be processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 
    • Participants have the right to request access to, correction, or deletion of their personal data. Any such requests should be directed to contact@zencoder.ai.
    • You may withdraw consent at any time by notifying Zencoder via the contact information provided, but doing so may result in ineligibility for the Contest. 
  • Data Sharing:
    • Personal data will not be shared with third parties for marketing or unrelated purposes without Your explicit consent. Data will be retained only as long as necessary for Contest administration and compliance with legal obligations. 
  • Children’s Privacy:
    • This Contest is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, and Zencoder does not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If Zencoder becomes aware of any data collected from individuals under 18 without verification of parental consent, Zencoder will delete it. 

13. General Conditions

  • Zencoder reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Zencoder’s reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Contest, as determined by Zencoder in its sole discretion. 
  • This Contest is governed by the laws of California, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Santa Clara County, California. 

By entering, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions and acknowledge that all decisions by Zencoder regarding the Contest are final and binding.
